Maria has been detained at Broward Transitional Center since March, away from her 3 children and husband. ICE knocked on her door early one morning claiming to be doing a routine check and arrested her, instead.
Maria is a low-priority deportation, according to the Morton Memo, and should be released immediately. Tax-payers have already spent over $24,000 keeping Maria in detention. Why?
